The Black Dog Tavern, Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. (2010)
I have taken a few trips in my life to Cape Cod and always saw people wearing shirts with the infamous black dog symbol (or walking with bags of Black Dog merchandise). Well, I figured it was a tavern and it was on the water…perhaps it was worth a ferry ride with the family to check it out.
Although it was difficult to find the right angle to capture both bar and water, I managed to pull off a few good shots. After about two hours of ferry and bus rides to get there, I suggested to my wife that we at least have a beer at the place I shall be spending many hours painting. To our surprise, this tavern did not serve alcohol! Oh well, the iced tea hit the spot as I recall.
