Barbara Rickard

A self-proclaimed paintress, Barbara Rickard is lost in a love affair with color. She’s the creative mind behind a few of Buffalo’s memorable wall murals in view at McMonkey’s, Sky Bar, Crocodile, and Spot Coffee. Their vision and Barbara’s unbridled enthusiasm created spaces unlike any the city had seen before. 

Inspired by the fragility and tenacity of nature, the human body and its strength. Her work celebrates Buffalo WNY’s great heritage with regional landscapes and the city’s iconic buffalo. Barbara characters include Action Figures, Botanicus Wrecks and lively facial expressions known as “Mugs”. Barbara’s work takes on many shapes like pillows, blankets, coasters and more.
